オニキバシリ亜科

オニキバシリ亜科（オニキバシリあか、学名 Dendrocolaptinae）は、鳥類スズメ目カマドドリ科の亜科である。分類によってはオニキバシリ科 Dendrocolaptidae とも。

オニキバシリ（鬼木走）と総称される。

特徴

新熱帯区（熱帯アメリカ、ただしカリブ諸島を除く）に生息する。

全長14 - 37cm。

足に鋭い爪があり、キバシリ科のように爪を引っ掛けて木の幹を垂直に登る。尾羽は硬く、樹上で体を支える。

樹皮の間や幹の割れ目にいる昆虫などを食べる。樹洞に巣を作る。

系統と分類

系統樹は Moyle et al. (2009); Irestedt et al. (2009)より。

かつては独立したオニキバシリ科とされてきたが、カマドドリ科に系統的に内包されるため、亜科として含められた。ただしこれらを別科に保ったまま、カマドドリ科からヤブクグリ科 Scleruridae を分離する分類もある。

オニキバシリ亜科の姉妹群はカマドドリ亜科だが、カマドドリ亜科のホオジロカマドドリ属が他のカマドドリ亜科より近縁だとする説もある。

オニキバシリ亜科は2つの族に（あるいはオニキバシリ科は2つの亜科に）分かれる。ただし、オニキバシリ族の基底で分岐したチビオニキバシリ Glyphorynchus は、オニキバシリ亜科の最初に分岐した別系統だとする説もある。
